Reach Huawei viewers with an explicit compatibility plan

WisePlay adds a Huawei DRM option to a multi-device video service. DRM-X provides the authorization and license-service integration so the viewer can use the same purchase, subscription or learning entitlement model as on other supported platforms.

The important word is compatible. A Huawei brand name, Android version or HarmonyOS label does not by itself establish a usable WisePlay player path. Confirm the specific hardware, operating system, firmware, DRM runtime and player APIs. Plan a support matrix around tested combinations rather than promising coverage for every Huawei device.

Keep your content and license configuration aligned

Prepare and publish media with the encryption profile, key identifiers and initialization data required by the selected WisePlay client. At playback time, your application reports actual capability and your backend chooses an entitled, compatible result. It must not blindly return an arbitrary DASH package just because the device can read an MPD file.

The client creates the DRM challenge and sends it to the authorized license route. DRM-X handles the configured WisePlay integration and policy boundary; the device DRM implementation handles the license and protected decoding. Keep Site Keys, Access Keys and content keys on their server-side trust boundaries, not in the player.

Make failures explainable to customers and operators

Separate unsupported-device errors from expired login, denied entitlement, media packaging and license-response errors. A viewer should receive a clear compatibility message when a DRM path is unavailable, not a perpetual loading indicator or a silent downgrade to an unprotected file.

Qualification should use the exact player version you ship and include multiple encrypted tracks, license key-status handling, device restart, quality changes and supported output paths. Capture request identifiers and safe error codes for support, without recording authorization tokens, license payloads or clear keys.

Scope offline WisePlay as its own native integration

Huawei describes online and offline VOD capabilities for supported WisePlay integrations. A customer product still needs a compatible native client, persistent license policy and media download management. This is not automatically provided by a generic browser sample or the current DRM-X Widevine Android wrapper.

Bring the intended device list, player stack and disconnected duration to Haihaisoft. We can assess the appropriate WisePlay licensing and client integration for that deployment, including whether an on-board topology is suitable. Provider capabilities and a qualified, deliverable application are separate milestones.

No. Confirm the exact hardware, software and player runtime before advertising compatibility.

Can I share my backend with other DRM systems?

Yes. Keep the same entitlement workflow and return the correct DRM-specific manifest and license configuration for each supported client.

Does the Android SDK download include a WisePlay offline implementation?

The current documented Android offline SDK is Widevine. A WisePlay native/offline integration requires its own qualification and implementation.
